Intégrisme ? Vous avez dit " intégrisme " ? L'intégrisme religieux, surtout musulman, est fustigé au nom de la laïcité. Et s'il existait un " intégrisme républicain " fonctionnant de manière équivalente, en bonne part responsable du malaise français actuel ? Spécialiste internationalement reconnu de la laïcité, Jean Baubérot dénonce le " double discours " de cet intégrisme républicain qui empêche une lutte réelle contre les discriminations en confondant universalisme et refus de la diversité. Il aborde les sujets les plus actuels (égalité des sexes, islam, sectes, multiculturalisme, critiques de la laïcité française à l'étranger...) et propose de résister au choc des civilisations sans transiger sur l'essentiel. Une " laïcité inclusive " (incluant la diversité), fondée sur la loi de séparation de 1905 et enrichie par les expériences non françaises, permettra de lutter contre les discriminations et de répondre aux défis du XXIe siècle, comme le montre une " Déclaration internationale de la laïcité ", signée par des universitaires des cinq continents et publiée à la fin de cet ouvrage documenté et citoyen. |
